Autumn Newsletter

Latest News: Your Autumn Programme is in your inbox!

The rain of the last few weeks has brought great relief to the majority of our lawns that were fairly gasping for water over the summer months, but it has left me feeling distinctly autumnal!

Sophie has been sending out all of our Autumn Programmes – if you haven't received yours yet get in touch with her on 020 84171752 or by email at sophie@londonlawncare.co.uk. Please do confirm your appointment times with us so that we can ensure you keep your precious autumn slots!

The status of your lawn may have changed over the summer months as the weather has been so dry, this may mean that your lawn needs some extra love from our Turf Technicians – Conor, Steve and Nicholas. They will be able to assess on their first visit exactly what needs to be done and we can amend the programme accordingly.

Autumn Tasks

Brush off any worm casts with a rake or besom before you mow

Get in touch if your lawn acquires strange patches or fungal growths

Mow slightly higher as the weather gets cooler

Make sure your lawn stays free of leaves once the autumn drop starts

Don't walk on the lawn until the frost has cleared

Perfect Edges!

Have you ever dreamt of having a perfect, permanent edge to your lawn?

Our new metal edging looks like neatly cut soil edging, and is totally weather resistant and maintenance free! It also has the advantage that you can have crisp neat edges by simply mowing over the edging almost eliminating the need for edging shears.

This is a perfect winter job as it is easy to see how the edges should lie once the garden has been put to bed, so do give us a call to book your survey and installation slot.

Prices start from £13.75 per linear metre to £25.00 depending on the preparation involved and the additional materials needed to make good the edges. Call 020 8417 1752 now to find out how it could radically improve the look of your lawn!

Fox Fencing

After the media attention with urban foxes earlier in the year our fox fences are proving very helpful in many gardens in south west London.

Stop foxes digging at your lawn
Stop unpleasant offerings in your garden
Allow your children to play in the garden safely

We will need to pay a visit to confirm the pricing which is affected by the location to be protected. The price ranges from £375.00 plus Vat to £525.50 plus Vat.

We can be more precise about this after we have completed a survey. This includes one post sales visit to check that all is working properly. Call us now to book in your survey! 020 8417 1752

Rosa Recommends...

Over the time that I have been running London Lawn Care I have come across some useful contacts. I thought I would tell you about a great Tree Surgeon I have come across. Recently chatting with Ed from Edward Payne and Co he tells me that most trees are best pruned in the winter time when they are dormant.

Like us at London Lawn Care they have a bespoke approach to thir work. He explains: "We take extreme pride in ensuring the trees we prune are left looking natural and well balanced. There are various ways in which a tree can be pruned (the terms we use are crown reductions, crown thinning, crown lifting or dead-wooding). Every case is individual and we will advise you of the most appropriate action upon viewing each tree."

Of course keeping trees under control is crucial especially if you want to maintain a good lawn as they can make all the difference to the light levels in the garden.

Do give Ed a call if you are considering having tree work done on 020 8696 0888 or log on to www.eptrees.co.uk - mention this newsetter and you'll get extra special care!

As usual, I am on hand to help with any aspect of your lawn care so do please get in touch with me at rosa@londonlawncare.co.uk.

Very best wishes,

P.S. For those that are intrigued as to how my parents lawn looked for our wedding the images can be found here. Oh yes, and here's one of me in my dress!
